Day 47-60 in Sweden and NY

Since I didn’t really have time to update while on “Vacation” in Sweden this one has a lot of days in it, and the reason “Vacation” is within parenthesis is cause I REALLY need a Vacation now that I am back LOL

Day 47 Started the day in Nyköping feeling really Lousy! I had a cold that had started when I arrived and when I woke up that day I was feeling worse. Got a slow start in the morning, headed over to town around lunch since the weather changed from Sunny and warm to rainy and freezing and I had left my jacket at my moms! Found a new jacket and then back to Monica’s house. Dinner with Monica and Patrick…Chicken with Chantarelles ohhh heavenly! Sat down in the couch and was freezing even though it wasn’t really cold Monica heaped blankets all over me LOL went to bed early since the day after was going to be a Looong day!

Day 48 Graduation day for Tilda Yay!!! “För Hon har tagit Studenten!…” of course I don’t know the whole song! Quick drive up to Nacka in the morning to get there in time for when she walked out with the rest of her class. She and her friends had met up for Champagne breakfast in the morning 😀 They came out happy and screaming and then they got to meet up with family and friends that were waiting! Tears of Joy were falling from just about everyone!

Once they had gotten up on their rides (trucks with open beds decorated with signs and leaves) they headed off for the ride through Stockholm, we headed to lunch to celebrate Monica’s Birthday. Once b-day celebration was done we headed to Janne’s, Monica’s ex husband, house where everyone was meeting up to celebrate Tilda on her Graduation day! Lots of family and as usual with my friends it has to be a bit dysfunctional LOL so Monica was there of course since she is Tilda’s mom and then Janne’s next ex-wife was there since she was step-mom to Tilda and Pernilla for quite a while until she and Janne split up so at one point Janne’s brother says yeah Here comes Janne’s ex wifes club LMAO. All in all it was a Good day with lots of emotions most of them happy 😀 Gave Monica a ride back to Nyköping since Mr P and his mom left early 🙂 Ended up staying the nite since it got really late.

Day 49 Drove up to my mom’s in the morning had to change clothes in my overnite bag since it was now time for Wedding celebrations YAY Ancha + Bosse FOREVER Puss! Wrote about them in Still Day 24 or really early Day 25 in NY. Repacked my bags, showered then headed over to Ancha’s we were all meeting up there. Jan Ö who I hadn’t seen for 20 years also met up with us there it was SOO great to se him and Bosse who I hadn’t seen since -87 something. It’s fun both me and Bosse suffer from the old person phenomenom where you have to delete things in your brain to make space for new stuff LOL so neither one of us really recalls conversations or meetings that we have had but we remember each other so seeing him again was fun and we connected which felt really good! Jan Ö is still a BIG Teddy Bear and it was Soo fun seeing him again I think the last time I saw him was around -93 something. Too Long Time! We packed all the bags in my car and headed to Hotel Birger Jarl this was where we were staying the first night, due to Bruce Springsteen concert and various conferences finding rooms for 2 nights in a row was not Easy! Bosse’s grown up kids came by the Hotel, Emily, Anna and Hugo (Anna’s boyfriend=Bosses Extra son). Anna and Hugo had recently came back from a year in Norway. Headed over to Saddle & Sabre on Tegnérgatan i Stockholm, ordered Duelin’ Fish Tuna Steak and Salmon…Yummylicious!!! Owner Rob looked the same, Eje had us go to dinner there back in 2003 or 2004 can’t really remember LOL. Went to meet up with one more of Bosse’s kids, Eric, he was coming on the ferry from Gotland, on the same ferry was Anna the woman who was performing the wedding ceremony 🙂 She used to work as a waitress at the bar where Ancha and Bosse met…such a coincidence! Headed over to the “Och Himlen Därtill” cocktail bar located on top of Skatteskrapan…Very Impressive! Top to bottom glass windows with Wonderful views of Stockholm! Back to the Hotel from there to rest up for the next day…the Wedding Day!

Day 50 WEDDING DAY Ohh Yeahhh! Finally!!!! Janne and I met up with Ancha and Bosse for breakfast and a quick planning of the morning, was informed by Janne that yes I do Snore ROTFL I had warned him in advance. Headed over to Åhlen’s needed to buy panty hose since I was wearing a dress…yeah I know another occasion I actually put on a Dress for LOL. Also needed to get some last minute stuff for Ancha 😀 Back to the Hotel to pack our bags since checkout was Noon, Ancha and Bosse brought their bags along since they were going to pick up Saga, Ancha’s daughter. Janne and I decided to drive by the next Hotel to see if we could check in early, so over to Hotel Clarion Sign Very Nice Hotel will definetely stay there again sometime! Early check in was not a problem so we got that taken care of then headed over to Old Town to meet up with the rest of the Wedding party! What a Ceremony…breath taking, emotional, romantic….everything that it should be! It took place in the same place where Ancha and Bosse met the first time in -85…former Kurbits not sure what the name is now, it’s a Café by Stortorget in Old Town you have to go down a couple of stairs and then you get to this old Cellar…Georgeous! There was Music, speeches, and then the exchange of the rings! Was I glad I had water proof mascara on LOL.

After the ceremony we headed out for lunch/dinner at a really nice restaurant that I have forgotten the name of LOL it’s age getting to me LOL. Got to see Annicka, Ancha’s twin sister, hadn’t seen her in forever! Headed back to the Hotel with Janne while Ancha and Bosse went to leave Saga with her Dad. When they got to the Hotel we had everything set up with chilled Champagne, Louis Roederer Brut Premier, the only champagne worth drinking…Yummylicious! Got a bit tipsy 😀 Headed over to “Peppar” located on Torsgatan i Vasastan it was packed but we managed to squeeze in some space at the bar…some more drinking in order 😀 Of course had to go out and make a drunken phone call to Eje LMAO Hilarious! Bosse’s kids came and joined us for a couple of drinks. All of a sudden it was time to head back to the Hotell…Bosse had to get up early to catch the ferry back to Gotland! Of course everyone got the “drunken hunger” so we got us some kebabs…yeah Nasty! Ahh well the tummy wants what the tummy wants LOL Feel asleep a little drunk 😀

Day 51 Ancha pinged on the phone met her outside she was feeling a little downer since she wasn’t going to see Bosse for almost 2 weeks due to work obligations, so me and Janne was talking to her trying to cheer her up. Let’s put it this way I managed…I am not going to go into details cause it would gross most people out LOL All I will say is -Öhhhh Ancha, duu har du en näsduk! ROTFL yeah that was a very internal joke LOL. Went to get some breakfast then piled all of us in the car to go pick up Saga and then headed over to Ancha’s. Dropped them all off then headed over to my mom’s for another one of my change overnight bag contents 🙂 Showered and changed then went to pick up Tilda and her friend Hedda to head over to Nyköping, Monica was having BBQ, Mr P’s cousin…yeah the broken hammock one…was coming over too. Very good food as usual…stole some beer from my mom LMAO…naah never did it when I was a kid so I figured Why start now 🙂 Sent her a text and she was fine with me taking it 😀 Of course it ended up being some kind of world cup soccer game on and Sweden lost so that kinda was a downer for the evening for the boys ahh well you can’t win them all LOL Ended up not staying the nite made my way back to my mom’s late that nite…or early next morning depending on how you look at it 😀 Slept…coughed…slept…coughed…slept…and so on the rest of the nite.

Day 52 this was B-day celebration day we had Patrik and Andreas my older sister Susanna’s kids turning 20 and 18 and then Gunnar my step dad we decided to celebrate them all on the same day 🙂 We were all gathering at Susanna’s house for dinner. My little sister Lina and her family, my step brother Mattias, his wife Julina and their son Johan, my older sister with her family, my mom Maria and my step dad. Had Lasagna for dinner and then there was cake 😀 After all of the eating everyone wanted to get family photos taken since for once we were all in one place so we did Sister/brother photo, Mom/Dad/Kids photos everyone smiling.

Of course with the little ones it was hard to get them to sit still and smile all at the same time 😀 Headed back to moms for some sleep.

Day 53 headed out with mom to take care of some shopping and bank business had Lunch in Farsta. Monica came over to my mom’s we went and had dinner with one of our old school mates from Falkbergs skolan, Susanne, she brought her daughter Lin. As we are sitting there talking we get into the subject of an old friend of theirs that they both dated and that I knew from when I lived in Sorunda…2 sec later he comes walking down the street! Later we talked about a guy that lived in Tullinge that used to work with Monicas ex husband and when we walk out of the restaurant that guy comes walking down the street! So we joked about who we were going to talk about now to see if they showed up…me I wouldn’t mind running into Hugh Jackman…or maybe Vin Diesel LMAO. Me and Monica headed back to my mom’s watched some TV or rather the TV watched us lol.

Day 54 Graduation day for Pernilla, Monica’s youngest, she was finishing High School. Headed into Stockholm to Södermalmsskolan for a Very Long graduation ceremony.

Had a Really nice lunch with Monica, Tilda and her boyfriend Ralle next to the school while waiting for Pernilla to get all her goodbyes out of the way. Headed over to my mom’s to get some rest before heading out again. Had dinner with Lotta, Angela, and Marie. We went to Shanti on Katarinabangata in Stockholm…it was Packed but that was understandable since the food was Awesome! Went from there to  à la crêpe a little higher up on Katarinabangata…another place that was Packed but they had some seats outside and since they had heaters hanging from the ceiling it was ok. The crêpe’s were not bad…they weren’t Awesome since I am spoiled with real french crêpes but they were really good…sinfully sweet 😀 Headed out from there gave Angela a ride home then back to my mom’s for some sleep. Crept in to not wake up the grownups…hold up I am 42 should I still act as if I am 14 ROTFL.

Day 55 my cough was still there I had slept a little better since I was sleeping in the couch kinda half sitting, as soon as I slipped down the cough started! Went to Farsta for some more shopping…since Monica ended up staying one more night than planned she needed some clothes and I needed to change some dollars to kronor. Got some lunch then headed back to my mom’s. Chilled for a minute then it was time to meet up with the sisters in Huddinge to have dinner. We went to Kina-Thai Asiatisk restaurang the food was really good. Spent a couple of hours reminiscing and chatting…had a really good time! Back to my mom’s Monica picked up her car and headed home to Nyköping and I headed to bed!

Day 56 laundry time my mom had set up a time so I could go home with clean clothes! Loved that since coming home with a bunch of dirty laundry is not a good idea LOL. Had some lunch with mom she cooked some chantarelles to put on sandwich…Yummylicious does not even cover it! Headed over to Ancha’s in the afternoon for BBQ with her and Saga…really good food and really good talk time! Talked about old times and new times! Back home to mom’s for some sleep.

Day 57 started organizing my stuff for the trip back. Went down to Nyköping for dinner at Monica’s…tunnbrödrulle…yummylicious! Went to take some pictures on the beach.

Got caught up on some e-mails started out with 1200 got them down to around 100 Phew! Watched a movie, then caught up with the series Blomstertid very funny and extremely swedish…especially the scene where the halfnaked (t-shirt only) man stands showing his family jewels while talking to one of the characters…have to catch the 5th episode online on the 18th. Later on went with Monica to the Harbour to pick up Pernilla she had gone out dancing with some friends. Sleep time.

Day 58 Had a nice breakfast with Monica and Mr P then we woke the girls up since I was giving them a ride to their dad’s. They were all going up north later in the week for a family reunion with their Dad’s family so they had their large bags packed so I figured I’d give them a ride 🙂 After I dropped them off went over to mom’s to pack. Dinner was grilled meat with fries…yummylicious 😀 Of course I had misplaced my passport so I had to look or that LOL typical me! Bedtime before heading out early in the morning!

Day 59 Mom woke me up in the morning…I guess you never get to old for that early wake up 😀 Got my suit cases together and headed out in the rain for the trip to Arlanda airport. Left the rental and then over to the terminal for checkin. Got on the plane…lousy airplane food again LOL caught a couple of hours zzz’s and then voila we were landing in Newark! I gotta say this whole non-stop flight I am LOVING it! Got my bags then out to find my driver…he was standing there with the little sign saying Eva Hoff 😀 Back to Manhattan…back home…Bliss walking into my apartment 😀 Started unpacking checked some mail…caught up on some recorded series…waited for Miss X who was coming by to pick up her bags. Tried to stay awake as long as possible so that my day would not get too srewed up. Once Miss X showed up we started chatting away so it ended up being close to midnite before my head hit the pillows…poof and I was in dreamland!

Day 60 Up early to ge ready for work…nice walk in the morning not too cold not too hot just warm and a little breeze! Walked by Au Bon Pain for my Pain au Chocolat! hmmm had missed that! Walked home for lunch! On the way back Sunny and georgeous outside was walking and almost felt like I was back in Nice! Got caught up with all my e-mails…boss in India so had time to dig in there! Back home in the afternoon. Got caught up with my Law & Order Criminal Intent…now they have 2 of my favorites every other week Vincent D’Onofrio and Jeff Goldblum both of them are highly Yummylicious! Now I am getting to the point where my eyes just want to close I am going to try to stay awake for a little bit longer but my bed is calling my name…Caaaamiiiilllaaaa come lie down…LOL. So on that note I will close down and wish you all a Good Nite!
