Day 61-100 in NY

Phew have I not been here for a long time 😀 I wish I could say it’s because I have been so busy due to all the partying etc…but that would not really be true 😀 Anyway here we go:

Day 61  woke up way too early trying to cough my lungs up…ended up working from home since I didn’t want a swine flu rumour to start at work 😀 Otherwise the day was uneventful. Consumed lots of Tea with Honey, was grateful for my DVR which allowed me to watch the TV series I had missed while in Sweden 🙂 Still felt the effects of jetlag so headed to bed early 🙂

Day 62 spent most of the night trying to soothe my lungs…unsuccesfully…worked from home still plenty of tea…felt sorry for myself most of the day. Went to the Pharmacy…since it is right downstairs 🙂 and got some cough medecine. Felt better towards the evening. Bedtime was early again!

Day 63 finally slept through the whole night went to work in the morning pulled the newsletter together. Tried out a new restaurant Max Brenner almost everything on the menu has some sort of chocolate in it! Sinfully Delicious! Headed home still have some unpacking and putting away to do….hmm well it can wait until later :D…did I tell you I am a procrastinator…hmm is that a word 😀 Nite Nite.

Day 64 off to work nothing eventful was a good day. After work went to pick up my beautiful Mazda RX8 in the garage…she was all dusty…my poor baby has been standing neglected in the garage for almost a month! Long ride down to Richmond arrived late nite/early morning. Passed out at the hotel room

Day 65 alarm rang early headed over to Justin, then running around Richmond, in the heat, to try to get the car inspected, gave up on that and headed to DMV instead. Justin is now the proud owner of a my little baby…sniff…sniff…I no longer have a car. Headed over to Ashburn to my Goodyear place to get the inspection done she passed with flying colors 🙂 Justin headed over to Baltimore to see his paternal grandmother since she is very ill. My friend Miss D picked me up and took me to DC, also very hot, to get on the train to NYC. We went to have some dinner and as we are sitting there I realize I forgot my sweater at Justin’s house brrrrrrr. AC is on full force everywhere and since I guessed the train would have it on too I bought a big sweater with Washington DC written all over it…felt like a real tourist…but was very happy once I got on the train 😀 Cabbed it from Penn Station since it was raining and chilly when I got back to NYC. After a full day of running around with hardly any sleep my bed called loudly to me 🙂

Day 66 spent the day with household chores…yeah I know Real boring 😀 Nothing exciting going on some phonecalls to family and friends and then off to bed!

Day 67 worktime Boss back from India. Walk home for lunch…I still deeply appreciate the fact that I can walk to work…no more sitting in traffic or worrying about other drivers 🙂 Headed home after work for some homemade Bolognaise sauce and couscous yummy 😀 Bed called me early 🙂

Day 68 busy day at work…loved that 😀 Home in the pm played some mindless video games on my PC while watching some TV 😀 I know I have a hard time just watching TV have to do something else at the same time 😀 I guess it is a multi tasking disease 😀  Bed time Nite Nite.

Day 69 work was good. Now if you are of the sensitive type please stop reading now since I am going to write about American toilets. Now when you go to the bathroom in Sweden first off it’s a bathroom with a door, a real lock, and full walls, not like here where you have stalls that are open on the top and bottom and all that closes them is a little latch. The second thing is in Sweden they toilets are higher, here some of them are so low so if you have high heels on you almost fall on the toilet before your butt reaches the seat LOL but the WORST thing is some of them are constructed in such a way that the water sits very high in this owal bowl (almost looks bidet like) so if you put some paper in it floats around in there and then it touches your butt!!! I am telling you the first time that happened to me I almost flew off the seat, it scared the hmmm crap out of me 😀 This can not happen in a normal toilet since the water level is at the bottom 😀 Anyway now I have vented enough about bath rooms 😀 Sensitive people can now go back to reading 🙂 The evening was uneventful and my bed was nice and inviting 😀

Day 70 newsletter time at work. Good day no fires to put out 🙂 Back home in the evening, I have discovered hulu.com and have been catching up on old episodes of The Dresden files…a sci fi series that they unfortunately shut off after a while…ahh well they do that to all good series 😀

Day 71 TGIF isn’t that what they say 😀 Worked on adding books to our Shared Library at work…involved some web work liked that 🙂 Quick trip to K-Mart after work…love having all these stores right next to where I live and work 😀 Most of the evening was spent playing mindless computer games 😀 They are supposed to be good for your brain 😀

Day 72 went for a walk in the morning…then quick run to the grocerystore. Spent the afternoon reading in my chaise by the window 😀 Did I say how much I love my apartment 😀 The only thing missing is my new bed that should arrive in another couple of weeks…and no I did not pick an Ikea bed 😀 I found a Chocolatebrown Leather platform bed with storage…georgeous 😀 It is called Modus Lucca Ash and Birch Platform Storage bed I can’t wait until it gets here 😀

Day 73 back to work! Are you suffering from the Monday blues?…cause I sure do LOL I have a hard time getting up on Monday mornings 😀 Work was good  spent the evening catching up on some NCIS didn’t watch it before but with no good summer shows on I decided to record old and new episodes…turns out it’s not too bad.

Day 74 uneventful day at work more NCIS when I got back home. They called and gave me a delivery date for my bed Yay Friday in 2 weeks!

Day 75 slow day at work…it’s the week before July 4th so many people on vacation 🙂 Had Happy Hour after work, Denys was in the NY office, started out at Central Bar for some drinks then ended up eating Polish…I think…in East Village 😀

Day 76 last day at work before a long weekend 🙂 a lot of people going BBQing this weekend and there will definitely be fireworks tomorrow 🙂 For me this is a Game weekend! A weekend of nothing but games 😀 My new Mattress arrived now all I need is the bed! Spent the evening with mindless computer games…it is Big Fish games and they have these hidden objects and puzzle games very entertaining for someone like me 😀

Day 77 spent the day dusting my bookshelves…I Really need to get some doors since this city dust is killing me!! Spent some time on the phone with Monica, mammabloggaren, 😀 Went to bed way to late 😀

Day 78 grocery store in the morning went to get some good food for that evening, spent the day cleaning and playing games…some phone calls…some laundry 🙂 Deflated the airbed mopped the floor and then put down my new mattress 😀 Cooked some filet mignon, bearnaice sauce, and french fries for dinner Yummy! Watched the fireworks from my windows couldn’t see All of it but the ones reaching the highest I could see over the highrises very nice! Only problem was the smoke and smell that came afterward 🙂 Didn’t get to bed until around 3 am hmm those mindless computer games suck you in 😀

Day 79 received a phone call a friend was popping in for lunch hadn’t seen Mr M in a while so that was fun. Checked out a delivery place koolbloo.com…really good hamburgers 😀 Mr M had to head back home since he had another run later that day.

Day 80 busy day at work  after the long weekend. Realized I need to go to DMV to change my license was supposed to have done that within 30 days of moving oops 😀 ahh well I need to find out a good day to go. Started catching up on Stargate SG1 on hulu.com.

Day 81 busy day at work again. Headed home in the evening tired. Bed beckoned early 🙂

Day 82 only 2 days until my bed arrives Yay! Home in the evening for some mindless computer games 😀

Day 83 getting more and more excited my bed is arriving tomorrow! Work was good nothing eventful…evening spent tidying up considering the guys in the building was going to bring up the boxes. 🙂

Day 84 worked from home waiting for a 9-4 delivery gotta love these delivery windows they give us! Got a message from Justin his paternal grandmother passed away in the hospital. Spoke to him for a bit it was sad but she had been ill for a while so for her it was probably peaceful. Finally around 3:30 my boxes arrived!!! The guys in my building helped me up I am so grateful since it was Curbside delivery and I would never have been able to get those up on my own 😀 Finished up some work and then started opening the boxes…yeahh so I’ve got these really good scissors so while pushing down on one of the box sides to open it up…with the scissors in my hand…I ended up pushing my thumb on the blade and put a big slice across the length of my thumb…ouchouchouch…that hurt like a m-f-er! So with the blood running all over my hand I sit on my couch and try to figure out how to open the boxes now hmmmm. Luckily I had these big bandages…leftovers from my surgery…so with my thumb wrapped I decide to attach the boxes again…and put another slice in my long finger LMAO ok I need new scissors that are not as sharp…or maybe I need to not open boxes on my own…hmmm. Once the blood flow stops and I now have 2 wrapped up fingers I attack the boxes again…I know I am stubborn 😀 I get to the box with the very heavy Headboard I get it out of the box and promptly drop it on my shin and foot…at this point I am laughing so hard I almost cry. So finally all the pieces are unpacked and I get to sleep on the couch since my mattress is pulled into a corner waiting for me to put the bed together 😀

Day 85 ok so today it is time to put the bed together Yay…actually it wasn’t too bad…apart from the bleeding thumb every time that I had to bend it or use my hand to screw something together something it started bleeding again 😀 At least the bandage was a good one so no leakage and no blood on my new Beautiful bed 😀 Chocolate colored leather with a nice chunk of storage space! Evening couldn’t come too fast I wanted to try out my new bed!

Day 86 woke up after a wonderful nights of sleep on my new bed 😀 Unfortunately I also woke up sore from all my bruises and bumps from putting the bed together LOL but it was worth every scrape, cut, and bruise 😀 The bed is Georgeous! Watched some Dexter my favorite serial killer 🙂 Ordered dinner from Koolbloo.com was too tired to cook 🙂 Later in the evening my New Bed was calling my name ohh so sweetly 😀

Day 87 spent the nite feeling sick like a dog went to bed again around 5 am woke up around 8 world was spinning…went back to bed slept a couple of hours woke up felt a little better…worked from home. Went to bed early.

Day 88 worktime busy day…I am still trying to find a doctor to see in NY but it is hard to find one that can see me before September LOL. Spent the nite with my favorit Vampire Bill in True Blood…Very loosely based on the Sookie Stackhouse books by Charlaine Harris. Bedtime was early still feeling a little weak 🙂

Day 89 uneventful day at work. Walked around Union Square for a bit then home for dinner…coconut shrimp with mango chutney…then sleep!

Day 90 work was good. Went to K-Mart after work to get some stuff for the bathroom. Home cooked some dinner, cheese and ham omellette hmm Yummy 😀

Day 91 TGIF yep I really like Fridays! Ended up in food coma after lunch could hardly function the remainder of the afternoon 😀 Quick trip to the grocery store for Pate, Baguette, Cheese and Cornichons 😀 Yummylicious! Started a puzzle mania, got it in my head to do all my puzzles to make sure I have all the pieces 😀 Well I have a lot of puzzles so I guess that it will take a moment 😀

Day 92 Breakfast of champions eggs, toast, sausage, yummylicious 😀 Nice day for a walk to Best Buy up on 23rd street…not too hot just warm enough to make me comfortable. Bought some movies…Push, Knowing, and Serenity. Grocery store run to get some soda and food for the weekend. Puzzle and TV most of the evening 🙂

Day 93 Morning sleep in love those 😀 Did some laundry and started picking up in the apt. Started preparing Pizza for dinner when Miss X called she was in the neighborhood and wanted to go for dinner…so I invited her up to have some Pizza 😀 Started watching Push then Miss X had to head home…watched the rest of the movie then bedtime.

Day 94 woke up with total Monday blues LOL could have used another day of weekend 😀 Work was good. Walked home for lunch cheese and ham sandwich 😀 Dinner was Pizza leftover 😀 Spent the evening with NCIS 🙂

Day 95 uneventful day at work. Slipped out to go to Silver Spur for lunch…pancakes and bacon Yummy 😀 Home in the evening cold crab, ham, and dip for dinner…fresh 😀

Day 96 work in the morning then off to DMV…ok I if Never have to go there again it is going to be Tooo Soooon! That was the worst experience of my life! First almost 3 hrs Standing in line, not even chairs but Standing up…finally get to the booth where they take your picture and make sure you have all your documentation…then you get a ticket and there was another wait for over 1 hour, you sit on these wooden benches, and the numbering system is old fashioned with no sound so you have to check the board constantly, and if you miss your number you have to get a new ticket. I finally get to the counter and then another 20 min before this woman gets me a temporary license…now I just have to wait for the new one…so 4 hrs and $46 poorer I leave the DMV in NY and hope I never have to go to this office again 😀 Back to work for a couple of hours and then home to soak my poor muscles! Great exercise standing in line for 3 hrs in High heels. Bedtime happened early!

Day 97 Good day at work…my Boss went to Dulles yesterday for the rest of the week. Home for some more puzzles 😀 Miss X stopped by on her way to a date…she got a little lost around Union Square but found the place eventually. Caught up on some TV then bedtime.

Day 98 Today we had an All Hands at work with some “famous” guests and with everyone tweeting away articles were posted less than an hour into the meeting. Gotta love the internet! Home for a calm evening with Dexter…my favoite serial killer! Finished reading a couple of books then time for bed.

Day 99 Woke slowly still tired went from the bed to the couch…got acall from Miss X we made plans to go see a movie and then some dinner. Tidied up in the apartment…showered then got ready. Met up with Miss X at the Regal Cinemas at Union Square checked out “The Ugly Truth” cute movie really funny in some places. Since I love Gerard Butler I think I appreciated the movie a bit more than it was worth LOL. Went from the movies to “Blue Water Grill” what a place…definitely going there again…the food was delicious and the service was impeccable…really yummy chocolate wodka served over ice 🙂 I started with shrimp & lobster springrolls with a sweet chili dipping sauce…a little too much green in it but the taste was wonderful. As a main course I had mahi mahi with shrimp in a coconut broth…also a little too much greens but Delicious. For dessert I had a Caramelized Banana Ice cream Tower  now that was Sinfylly Yummylicious! Headed home sat chatting for a while then Miss X headed out and Iwent to bed and passed out!

Day 100 woke up real slow after my excesses from yesterday! Went to to Wahlgreens for some light shopping then back home. Finished watching season 2 of Dexter…loved the ending! Fixed some dinner crab salad with Ranch dressing yummy! So now I am sitting here watching Watchmen and eating some Häagen-Dasz Carael Cone ice cream and listening to the thunder outside…shit…ok had to run up and close all the windows since the rain was so fierce that it was blowing sideways in through the tiny openings I had in the window! I guess Mother Nature is having a tantrum 😀 Anyway be good and safe out there!
