Day 1-3 in NY
Posted by Camilla on April 18th, 2009 filed in NY UpdatesSo I am now officially a New Yorker as of 4/16/09. Day 1 was uneventful drove up from VA, walked into an apartment filled with boxes. Had a little bit of box overload 🙂 A friend of mine had received the last boxes in the morning so she was helping me out, putting everything into the kitchen and she put together the chaise that I got from Ikea 🙂 She also helped get a couple of the curtain panels up so that I could get some privacy while sleeping 🙂 Received my First package from the doorman, extra charger for the Kindle2 from Amazon.com 🙂
We went for Dinner that evening very nice little corner restaurant in Greenwich Village called Jack Bistro, http://www.jackbistronyc.com/. Very cozy had a Mahi Mahi sandwich, yummylicious 😀 the espresso martini wasn’t bad either 😀
Day 2 woke up at 6 am and started putting together the couch…from Ikea…hehe brand loyal?..Maybe 😀 Went out around 10:30 made it to Le Pain Quotidien to get a “pain au chocolat” mmmmm 🙂 passed by Forbidden Planet was not supposed to get anything but found Witchblade compilation Volume 2 so had to get that one! Back to the apartment lot of unpacking, started to get a little headway could actually walk around the apartment without running into things 🙂 Took a cab to the Mazda dealership in the afternoon to pick up my little baby all clean and nice…and running smoothly…back to the apartment to more unpacking. The fridge of course was empty so qick run to Food Emporium dinner last night was omellette with Crawfish salad and cheese…sooo good 🙂 Then onto some more unpacking…by 9pm completely exhausted fell into bed and fell asleep in minutes to the sound of traffic…I am such a City girl!
Day 3 woke up around 7 lazy morning sat watching some TV cereal for breakfast, did some organizing made sure boxes that will be unpacked later were stowed away. Placed the order for book shelves from…yeah you guessed it IKEA 😀 Delivery in 2-3 weeks. Things are starting to get pulled together 😀 A friend came over, went to the food fair got a Chicken gyro went over to Union Square and sat down on the stairs people watching…funny thing next to us were 2 swedish girls…doing the same thing 🙂 Went to the Parking and took some pics of my little baby, one of my buddies will be putting them up on Craigslist…have to sell my little treasure much sadness! Am now back in the apartment getting ready to put together a table from…hehehe IKEA…yeah I know I am really Swedish 😀

Your life has made a turn for the better, or at least for the ‘more exciting’! Now, expressos in the Village – Ahhhh reminds me of when I was a kid and would go into the city (of course you need to substitute “espresso” with “beer”, and “the Village” with “the Garden”). Enjoy!
PS- missed your party 🙁 forgve me!
