Day 240-252 in NY

Day 240 Got to work in the morning and it was Empty! Mr MA stopped by my desk he and I were the only ones in the office…everyone else was starting their vacations 🙂 It is that time of year when everyone needs to scramble to make sure all their vacation is taken before the year is up 😀 Had a good day at work home in the afternoon walk in to the apartment and almost Died! I had turned on the radiator in the apartment since it had gotten really cold only to have the weather turn on me so when I got home the apartment was so Hot I thought I was going to pass out…see my heater has 2 settings On and Off and nothing in between…and the portable heater that I bought when it gets cold if I turn up the heat past a certain point then the power goes out 🙂 Ahh well turnd the apartment heater off and turned the portable heater on 😀 Played some Dragonage: Origins then it was time to hit the sack!

Day 241 Called Josefin at Hamra Krog in the morning to pay the apartments for the midsummer party…of course I had forgotten to call my Bank to let them know someone was going to charge the card from Sweden so they refused the payment…fraud protection can be a pain sometimes…after a couple of phone calls to the bank got it all squared away and sent email to Josefin to charge the card again. Just have to wait to hear back from her that the payment went through. Headed to work very quiet…almost a little eerie when you walk in to the offices in the morning and noone is there! Home in the afternoon got caught up on some TV “Lie to me” and “Criminal Minds” had some leftover Indan for dinner and sat thinking about Midsummer party I am Excited! Headed to bed with visions of summer and sunshine in my head!

Day 242 Woke up around 4 am dreaming that someone was scoping out my eye with an ice cream scope…talk about Headache…took some Advil and laid down again…yeah did not help…forget getting back to sleep. Managed to walk to work and pick up my laptop…thought I was going to die…got to work had forgotten my badge didn’t have ID but I guess I looked so miserable they didn’t even ask…or maybe they recognized me…got the laptop and made my way back home…spent most of the day on the couch feeling sorry for myself LOL. Got an e-mail from Josefin at Hamra Krog payment had gone through we are Confirmed for Midsummers! Arriving 6/23 leaving 6/30 Awesome…I can’t wait! Head started feeling a little better toward the evening headed to bed early.

Day 243 woke up Freezing! Turned the apartment heater on again since when I turned up the heat on the portable heater well I blew the fuse LOL Getting dressed that morning was a challenge I had to find my thermal long johns…yes that’s how cold it was outside! I was supposed to be on vacation today but since I was sick yesterday and there were some stuff I needed to get done in person in the office I decided to go to work in the morning. Headed home early in the afternoon and started a new session of Dragonage: Origins…this time as a male Rogue…yeah I know I am Hooked! Bed early…well early Friday morning that is LOL

Day 244 Vacation day yahoo…played Dragonage all day…checked my e-mails since I had a couple of things that needed to go through approvals before Finance cutoff. Later in the evening I walked down to Chez Jacqueline for some Moules Mariniere and Frites…and a couple of Jacks…courtesy of one of Mr D…early Christmas present 😀 Went back home all excited for a 2-hour stint of Dollhouse…yeah NO the cable had cut out after 21 min! Soo annoying…so I got on the PS3 and cut the heads of some Ogres and other darkspawns…felt so much better…and realized that I just had to wait until it comes online and watch it on the PC 😀  Bed looked inviting so crawled into it and promptly fell asleep.

Day 245 Woke up in the morning and on the news all they could talk about was the Huge snowstorm that was going to come…inVA they had gotten almost 1/2 meter (20 inches) of snow…they weren’t expecting as much here though only 15-20 cm (6-8 inches)…but it was on every news channel 😀 The snow started falling a little after 1 in the afternoon…Monica sent message on FB her Dr had called and they may have a solution to get rid of her pain Yay! Spent most of the day playing Dragonage…around 7:30 I looked outside and this is what I saw.

Still not a lot of snow. Back to Dragonage…checked again around 11 and there was a little more snow.

Headed to bed and figured I would see the total damage the day after 🙂

Day 246 Snow all over the place I could see people struggling to jaywalk…why the hell do you want to jaywalk when there are only 2 lanes available on a 4 lane street and you have 2 meters of snowbanks to get through before you get to the sidewalk? ahh well one thing is for sure I wasn’t going out there today…snow and cold yeah Not my thing! Got caught up on Dexter Season 4 in one sitting! It had a very disturbing ending! Noticed on Twitter that Brittany Murphy had passed away Very suddenly…very sad 🙁 Bought myself a paper shredder from Office Depot so that I scan and store electronically all the paper crap I have. About an hour later I get one of those calls from the bank checking to make sure my charges were really mine…irritated I wait on the line until a real person shows up…and it turns out there are charges that aren’t mine! WTF so I go over all the charges turns out somone has been buying clothes and stuff from a surfer store in CA! Soo annoyed! On with the PS3 kill some monsters…I am telling you this is the best aggression therapy ever! Bed time…everything feels so much better once I put my head on my fluffy pillows 😀

Day 247 Winter Solstice…this is when the days start getting longer 🙂 Was freezing outside so long johns and sturdy boots…New sturdy boots…hmm…blisters here we come…didn’t think about that when I left for work. Work was empty yep we knew that was going to be the case 🙂 Walked down to Washington Square Park and took some pics in the cold…this is where I hung out last summer…not so much in the cold LOL

We got snow covering the benches where I sat with Monica & family this summer.

 The fountain where the kids were running around playing in shorts and t-shirt…yeah that is not happening for a while LOL. Headed home in the pm and had a frigging blister on my heel…and it had burst…so painful! Then when I sit and load my pics I drop the camera…on the same foot…that hurt! Headed to bed like a wounded soldier LOL

Day 248 woke up with one eye glued shut…marvelous an eye infection…my foot hurt big bruise on top and the friggin blister…and then on top of it all I got my monthly visit…yeah this was sooo Not my morning! Limped to work…tried to keep my head up and a smile on my face…yeah not sure I succeded LOL. Headed home early and worked the rest of the day from home…my shredder had arrived just in time for Christmas…went to bed early.

Day 249 Headed out first thing in the morning…around 7 am…I am so happy I have a 24/7 Best Buy right across the street! It was time to go Christmas shopping…for me! I had my eyes set on the new slimmer version of the PS3 with extra large memory…slobber…also went for the complete Battlestar Galactica package…slobber a little more 😀 Back home fired up the work PC and worked from home got a call that one of our new groups needed some help…I was all for that should hear from them next week. Was in the mood for knäck and is-choklad and wished that someone could deliver…cause I do not feel like making it myself 😀 Spent the evening with Dragonage…bedtime not too late.

Day 250 God Jul! Merry Christmas to all of you out there! Spent the day playing Dragonage and puttering around the apartment doing…absolutely Nothing…I love Christmas! and for the americans out there…yes in Sweden we celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve 😀 Called my mom…she and Gunnar was up in Grönklitt with my younger sister Lina and her family + some of Jakes family from Australia. They had snow and had done a lot of skiing. Found out that Fa can’t make it to the party on midsummer…great sadness 🙁 Spoke to my older sister Sanna to confirm that 4/10 was still on since I was buying the tickets…and if it wasn’t for that date I wold not be going in April 😀 Spent the rest of the day playing Dragonage…since I bought the new PS3 I had to start a new game 😀 went to bed early…Friday morning 😀

Day 251 Christmas Day…sent and received some Christmas greetings with my friends in America 😀 Bought my plane tickets for next year…trip in April and in June…played some Dragonage…went to the store…had a long conversation with Monica 😀 Got a FB message from Ancha 2 really awesome news!! Steff may make it to midsummer after all…Yay!!…and Guy, Ancha’s ex husband is going to have a baby…Yay!!…Happy News indeed! Played some more Dragonage and then had some Marinated herring while watching some TV then it was time for bed.

Dy 252 Woke up slowly…love when my alarm clock does not ring in the morning 😀 Ended up on the Bravo channel and I just have to say what don’t people do to get on TV…so they have this show called Chef Academy where people are being taught how to cook by this Michelin star chef. One of the contestants is a French ex pornstar…a challenge was won by one of the females and she won a dinner…so the Michelin star chef asked that the ex pornstar play Waiter…in just an apron…butt naked underneath! Yep I kept looking LOL! Played some Dragonage then it was time for dinner…filet mignon with chantarelles, bearnaice sause and french fries…yummylicious! Watched the first 2 bd’s in the Galactica series…some serious stuff! Now it is time for my head to hit the pillow…Be safe out there and lotsa Holiday Joy to you all!
