Day 12-16 in NY
Posted by Camilla on May 1st, 2009 filed in NY UpdatesSo I was reminded by someone today that people actually read my blog and they were missing updates LOL well here we go, HK this one if for you!
Day 12 was a full day at work busy right now with building move for our whole group in VA they get to move into a newly renovated building, haven’t seen the improvements yet but will make my way down there to check it out once it’s done! Went to a friends house when I got back from work to leave some stuff she needed, actually took the Subway back! Yes I braved the subway lol, it wasn’t my first time but it was my first time as a New Yorker! I am going to need a subway map so that I can figure out the different stations 🙂 Back home finished up some work then straight to bed!
Day 13 was an Exciting day, had IKEA delivery scheduled between 11-3 so went to work early then left to go home and work from home a couple of hours. Georgeous weather outside, sunny and warm, summer day in Spring! For lunch I had a favorite that one of my childhood friends in Sorunda taught me, toast with Strawberry jam and Cheese…I know it sounds nasty but it is ohh so good! All the boxes arrived, nothing missing! Soo Happy my bookcases are here! Went back to work, later that evening at home started to put everything together! Finally I can start unpacking some boxes! Went to bed with tired muscles 🙂
Day 14 woke up surrounded by books and boxes, stumbled around as I usually do in the mornings trying to get to the Kitchen without making everything fall LOL. Made my way to work, was supposed to have lunch with a co-worker but they had an install so we had to re-schedule. After work I…yes I put together more bookcases 😀 Received my new fancy router and sat trying to make it work…realized that I need an Expert, or maybe it was just to fancy for me…so finally I just gave up 😀 Fell into bed turned around and remember no more!
Day 15 a little easier to navigate in the apartment managed to get rid of some boxes yesterday so no stumbling accidents 🙂 Brisk walk to work, a little chill in the air. Met up with a co-worker for lunch had a great time went to Jebon Noodle and Sushi house, http://www.jebonusa.com/, ordered the chicken in coconut broth. Good Food and Good Company! Looked for Crayons on my way home and couldn’t find any, luckily in one of the boxes I unpacked I had some color penils so Seatingmaps in hand I made my way home…in the rush hour…hmmm 0.3 mile (0.48 km)commute on foot 😀 so NO Rush Hour! Had an appointment to get my hair cut but we had to re-schedule so maybe next week 😀 Got a phone call from L she is scheduled for delivery on 6/2 so little Anna O will arrive when I am in Sweden, I’ll go visit when I get back. Put together some more bookcases unpacked some more boxes then I tackled the seating phew it’s like fitting angels on the head of a nail 😀 Got it together in a couple of hours finished up the evening then my head hit the pillow 🙂
Day 16 nitemare woke me up, luckily just a regular nitemare no niteterror so I snuggled up in bed for a while longer then up to start the day. Finalized the seating with DG and EP and then informed everyone of the blocking plans. Came home and started looking at the bookcases and realized that I need to order more shelving and a couple of more bookcases, so I go to Ikea.com and start shopping and like with the chairs I bought my bookcases are now no longer sold LOL. I guess someone wants me to skip the books and just load everything on the Kindle2 😀 Was supposed to have gone on a grocery run but it was Pouring down rain so it will have to wait for another day 🙂 Am now finishing the day so that I can get an early start tomorrow, going to VA for BBQ with M&L…Yummylicious!
Be safe out there and hope you are all having a great evening!

When I would use the subway as a college kid (back in the day) it didn’t take long for me to discover that there is an entire railroad system down there! Seems I would always get lost (plus back then it was pretty dangerous).
Glad you braved it!!!
